Healthcare Design

The goal of this project was to create a comprehensive care center for cancer patients to receive medical and radiation oncology treatments. This free-standing 22,400 sq. ft. facility was designed to support collaborative interventions of Beloit Health System and UW Health. The Cancer Care Center is strategically positioned to improve access for cancer patients in the broad region of Rock and Walworth counties, as well as those in northern Illinois.

The result of the design process is the Beloit Health System / UW Cancer Care Center: a creative response that enhances the patient care experience.
The sitting area takes advantage of natural daylight with floor to ceiling windows and provides a relaxing space for patients and families
The reception area is designed to be the welcoming center of the facility
There are 15 medical oncology infusion areas that can be open or closed for the patient's comfort
The linear accelerator provides additional medical services to the hospital patients and features a projection screen that displays peaceful images
A private examination room to help patients feel comfortable while receiving medical care
The waiting room has a variety of seating options and a warm color palette to make patients and families comfortable
