Steven Kieckhafer
AIA | EducationAt a young age, Steve discovered he has a talent for drawing. He continually pushed himself to draw more complicated depictions from motorcycles to buildings, cities, and neighborhoods. This skill and his desire to work with people pushed him to pursue a career in architecture. Today, he has over 25 years of experience and is a Partner in the Education Studio that leads PRA’s Madison Office. As the leader of the Madison office, he stays busy with all his responsibilities including serving clients, coordinating teams, and monitoring projects from start to end. He enjoys the variety of his day, and his position enables him to stay connected to all his clients throughout projects.
Even though Steve’s schedule is usually booked, he always makes time when a staff member or a client needs help. During projects, he is energized when he can guide a client through their vision to help them attain exactly what they were looking for. In the end, he always wants to leave his clients saying, “I have another project for you.” This inspires him to know that his team did something right and they met or exceeded the client’s expectations. In the office, he appreciates the knowledge and skills his team brings to the firm. Their knowledge motivates and challenges him to constantly grow, so he can better serve the staff and clients.
Outside of work, Steve continues to use his talents by designing houses and neighborhoods. Today, he resides in his house in Middleton, WI that he designed and built 20 years ago.
