Derek Neuman

As a son of a homebuilder, Derek was exposed to construction, engineering, and architecture at a young age. He recalls using his father’s drawing sets as his personal coloring book. This initial introduction sparked an interest that later led to a career. Today, Derek is an Associate and Project Architect at PRA in the Sarasota, FL office, where he collaborates with clients one on one and operates on the project management and production side of architecture.

Derek works on all building types including residential, healthcare, religious, and most recently dental offices with our Practice Design Group Partners. On projects, Derek enjoys having face to face interactions with clients and translating their needs into drawings. His inspiration on projects originates from his personal mission to provide the best support to clients when making decisions. From using design tools like virtual walkthroughs or ensuring the internal and consultant team are on the same page, Derek always keeps the client’s best interest and project vision front of mind.

When Derek is not working with clients, he is active in the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance because of the support it provides to local businesses and the community. He also enjoys getting to know his clients and coworkers beyond just “work” and loves spending time with his wife and daughter.
